Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern access to Apply Watermark and its browser-based image and video watermark tools. Please read them before using the service.

By accessing or using Apply Watermark, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You are responsible for ensuring that your use is permitted by the laws, licenses, agreements, and platform rules that apply to you.

1. Using the online watermark tool lawfully

Apply Watermark provides a browser utility for adding visible text and logos to images and videos. You may use it for lawful personal or commercial work when you have the rights and permissions required for the selected content.

1.1 Use media you may edit

You are responsible for ensuring that you own the selected media or have permission to modify it. Access to a file does not automatically provide copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, or licensing rights. Review contracts and platform rules when content belongs to a client, employer, marketplace, or collaborator.

1.2 Use logos and text responsibly

Only add brand names, logos, signatures, proof labels, URLs, and identity information you are entitled to use. A watermark must not falsely claim authorship, create a misleading endorsement, impersonate another person or company, or conceal the actual rights attached to the underlying work.

1.3 Do not facilitate harm

The service may not be used to infringe intellectual property, facilitate fraud, misrepresent ownership, harass people, or violate applicable law. It is designed to add a visible mark to authorized media, not to remove, obscure, or replace ownership information from someone else’s content.

1.4 Protect personal information

A visible watermark becomes part of the exported media. Do not add a private email address, location, client identifier, account detail, or other personal information unless it is intended for every future viewer. You are responsible for deciding what the mark reveals after sharing.

1.5 Follow destination rules

Marketplaces, social networks, stock libraries, client portals, and contests can have their own media and watermark policies. An export from Apply Watermark does not guarantee acceptance elsewhere. Check dimensions, format, advertising requirements, submission rules, and licensing terms before publishing the result.

1.6 Comply with local law

Legal rights and restrictions vary by jurisdiction and context. These terms describe use of the product and are not legal advice. If ownership, licensing, privacy, consumer protection, or infringement questions are important to a project, consult an appropriately qualified professional.

2. Ownership, storage, and responsibility

The browser workflow is designed so you keep control of source media and downloads. That local model also means you remain responsible for originals, backups, output review, and the consequences of publishing.

2.1 You retain your rights

You retain the rights you already hold in images, videos, logos, text, and exported files. Using the online watermark tool does not transfer ownership of that content to Apply Watermark. The service also does not grant rights in material owned by another person or organization.

2.2 Keep original copies

The editor is not cloud storage or an archival system. It does not maintain an account copy that can be restored after a browser session. Keep original media and appropriate backups, particularly when maximum quality, metadata, future cropping, alternate licensing, or an unmarked delivery may be required.

2.3 Review before publishing

After using the online watermark tool, you are responsible for checking spelling, logo choice, placement, opacity, dimensions, format, quality, audio, and file contents. Open downloaded images, videos, and extracted ZIP files before distributing them. A successful download does not mean the treatment suits every platform or agreement.

2.4 Browser limits apply

Performance depends on browser capabilities, device memory, processor speed, media dimensions, duration, format support, and batch size. Very large sources or long videos can process slowly or fail on constrained devices. Preserve originals rather than relying on one uninterrupted browser session.

2.5 No guaranteed protection

A visible watermark may clarify attribution, strengthen recognition, label a proof, or discourage casual reuse. It does not guarantee that copying, cropping, editing, infringement, or unauthorized distribution will never occur. Choose publishing dimensions and enforcement steps appropriate to the value and sensitivity of the work.

2.6 No backup recovery

Apply Watermark cannot recover an original or exported file deleted from your device because the editor does not receive and store that media. Use normal operating-system backups, trusted storage, and a clear folder structure. Keep processed copies separate when similar filenames could cause accidental replacement.

3. Availability, warranties, and changes

A free browser product can evolve, experience interruptions, or behave differently across devices. These conditions set realistic expectations while the project improves.

3.1 Provided as available

The online watermark tool is provided free of charge on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, no promise is made that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every file, or suitable for a particular commercial, legal, archival, or publishing purpose.

3.2 Limits on liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Apply Watermark will not be liable for lost files, lost profits, indirect damages, or problems arising from device limits, browser behavior, source errors, interrupted sessions, unsuitable output choices, third-party platforms, or use that violates these terms.

3.3 Terms may be updated

The product, sustainable funding model, and available features may change. Revised terms will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after a change is subject to the current version, so review the page again when a new capability materially affects your workflow.

4. Clarifications

4.1 Can I use the editor for commercial work?

Yes, for lawful commercial purposes when you have the necessary rights to the media, logo, wording, and intended use. You remain responsible for client contracts, licenses, marketplace rules, and any required permissions.

4.2 Does Apply Watermark own my export?

No. You retain the rights you already hold. The service does not gain ownership merely because the browser processed a file, and it cannot grant you rights in content that belongs to someone else.

4.3 Can the tool prove legal ownership?

No. A visible mark may communicate an attribution or claim, but legal ownership depends on facts, contracts, licenses, and applicable law. Use proper records and professional advice when proof of rights is important.

4.4 When were these terms updated?

These terms were last updated on September 3, 2026. Future revisions should keep the current date visible so users can understand which version accompanies the product they are using.

Product transparency

Apply Watermark is an independently maintained browser utility. Selected media stays on your device; ordinary hosting requests still reach Cloudflare, and Remotion sends limited licensing telemetry when video rendering runs. Read the Privacy Policy for the exact distinction. Product specifications were reviewed on September 3, 2026. Questions can be sent to [email protected].
